So today I will show in detail how to cook Tom Yum Goong by yourself.

Ingredients :

Medium size raw prawns 500 grams (16 oz)

Cooking Oil 1 Tablespoon

Big jug with water About 2 litres

Turmeric powder 2 teaspoons

Processed tamarind 2 tablespoons

Red curry paste 2 tablespoons

Fine red chillies, chopped 1 teaspoon

Shredded kafir lime leaves 5 leaves

Fish sauce 3 teaspoons

Lime juice 3 teaspoons

Soft brown sugar 2 teaspoons

Coriander leaves (fresh) 1/3 cup

Cooking Instructions :

We will firstly working with the prawn because it is the most important ingredients of Tom Yum Goong. First, wash the prawns and take off its head and shell but do not take off its tail. You should keep the prawn’s head and shell. We will use it to make a soup.

Secondly, you should add the prawn heads and shells to the oil in the large pan. After that, cook for 10 minutes. The heads and shells will turn to be orange color and that is a sign that they are cooked. Now add 3/4 cup of water and the red curry paste into the pan, boil the contents for 5 minutes. We will need to increase the volume of water at this stage. Add the remaining water to the pan and cooked for around 20 minutes. Then you have to take off the prawn’s head and tail from your soup.

Finally, put other ingredients in your soup following by the prawns then cooked for 5 to 6 minutes. The prawns will turn to pink color and it is successful. You must serve your Tom Yum Goong with hot Jasmine Rice. It’s so wonderful!!!!!
